Aluminium 5754 forgings mainly consist of aluminium mixed with magnesium (2.6–3.6%) along with trace amounts of manganese and chromium. This alloy, which isn’t heat-treatable, provides excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine and industrial settings, while also offering moderate to high strength. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 220 to 280 MPa, a yield strength of about 145 MPa, and an elongation of 8 to 12%, depending on the temper. Additionally, Aluminium 5754 forgings are known for their outstanding weldability and good fatigue resistance, making them perfect for structural and load-bearing applications.

Aluminum 5754 has excellent workability, making it easy to forge. Its good formability allows for intricate shapes, but requires careful temperature control to prevent cracking and ensure quality.
Aluminum 5754 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability, and formability. It's lightweight, resistant to stress corrosion cracking, and performs well in marine and industrial environments.
The forging process for Aluminium 5754 typically takes a few hours to a day, depending on the complexity, size, and type of forging, including heating, shaping, and cooling stages.
These forgings are extensively utilized in marine settings for shipbuilding, offshore platforms, and boat components due to their remarkable corrosion resistance. They also find their place in automotive body panels, fuel tanks, and transportation equipment where both strength and weight savings are crucial. Beyond that, this alloy is used in pressure vessels, storage tanks, and architectural structures. Its unique blend of strength, corrosion resistance, and formability makes Aluminium 5754 forgings the go-to choice for demanding applications that require durability and reliability in challenging environments.
