Phehlukwayo Metal stands out as a premier manufacturer and supplier of high-performance forged metal components, proudly rooted in Cape Town, South Africa. With a focus on advanced aluminium alloys, the company specializes in precision-forged Aluminium 7075 products tailored for critical applications in aerospace, defense, and industrial engineering. These forgings are celebrated for their strength, reliability, and remarkable fatigue resistance, making them ideal for meeting stringent structural and mechanical standards. Committed to quality, consistency, and timely delivery, Phehlukwayo Metal has earned a reputation as a trusted partner for clients in search of lightweight yet incredibly durable metal solutions.
Aluminium 7075 forgings are primarily made of aluminium, featuring key alloying elements like zinc (5.1–6.1%), magnesium (2.1–2.9%), and copper (1.2–2.0%). Known for its impressive strength-to-weight ratio, 7075 in the T6 or T73 temper can achieve tensile strengths of up to 570 MPa and yield strengths around 500 MPa. While it boasts excellent fatigue resistance, its corrosion resistance is not as high as other alloys like 5083 or 6061. Although Aluminium 7075 isn’t the best choice for welding, it shines in machining applications. Its exceptional mechanical properties make it a preferred option for aerospace, motorsport, and defense sectors that demand superior strength and performance.

Yes, Aluminum 7075 can be forged into shapes with tight tolerances. Its high strength allows for precise shaping, but careful control of temperature and pressure is required for optimal results.
Aluminum 7075 offers high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, low weight, good machinability, and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for custom forgings in aerospace, military, and high-performance applications.
Aluminum 7075 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and limited thermal stability. It is better suited for aerospace and structural applications at moderate temperatures.
Aluminium 7075 forgings find their place in various applications where high strength, fatigue resistance, and low weight are essential. In the **aerospace industry**, it’s utilized for aircraft fittings, wing spars, fuselage frames, and landing gear components. The **automotive and motorsport sectors** leverage 7075 for performance-critical parts such as suspension arms, chassis elements, and drivetrain components. In the **defense industry**, it’s employed in structural and ballistic applications. While it may not resist corrosion as well as some other alloys, its strength and performance make it a go-to choice in demanding environments.
