Stainless Steel 431 Flat Bar is a martensitic stainless steel primarily made up of iron, chromium (15–17%), nickel (1.25–2.5%), and a carefully controlled amount of carbon (up to 0.20%). This unique composition grants it excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength. It offers a tensile strength of about 850 MPa, a yield strength of roughly 600 MPa, and good hardness after heat treatment. The alloy strikes a balance between good toughness and high wear resistance, and it remains magnetic in all conditions. Its well-balanced chemistry makes it ideal for applications that demand both mechanical strength and moderate corrosion resistance.
