Tungsten bars and rods are mainly made up of tungsten (W), and the prevailing concentrations are between 99.9% and 99.95%. The material is highly brittle with a high melting point of about 3,422°C, and it exhibits excellent hardness. Some small quantities of additives that are present include 0.5 to 1 percent iron (Fe), 0.2 to 0.5 percent nickel (Ni), and sometimes a few percent of carbon (C) to enhance machinability and strength. Mechanical properties show tensile strengths around 700-1 500 MPa, elongations of about 10-20%, and even hardness up to 400-500 HV; these properties especially make tungsten suitable for higher temperature and stress applications.

Tungsten rods are not highly susceptible to galvanic corrosion because they are highly resistant to corrosion in most environments. However, if paired with more reactive metals, galvanic corrosion may occur.
Yes, Tungsten bars can be welded using specific techniques such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding. However, proper preparation and high heat are required due to Tungsten's high melting point.
Maintain tungsten rods by storing them in a dry, clean area to prevent oxidation. Avoid bending or exposing them to extreme heat. Regularly inspect for damage and handle with care.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
